I loved Audrey Niffenegger's first book, The Time Traveller's Wife.

I can't say that I loved Her Fearful Symmetry. I didn't hate it either but I'm still processing it. It was bizarre. The first 2/3 of the book was, but I didn't like the end.

The last two books that I have read have been ghost stories and could not be more different. Heading away on vacation and hoping to get a couple of books read while lying on the beach!
